Hi, I’m Dr. Tim Lazaroff and welcome to Candor Connect’s Mental Health and Personal Development category.
Good mental health is more than just the absence of a mental disorder. When we are mentally healthy we have a state of well-being in which we can maximize our abilities, we are able to cope effectively with life’s stresses, maintain healthy relationships, work productively, and be better able to contribute to well-being in every area of our lives.
It’s important to recognize that mental health issues can become overwhelming and too much to resolve by ourselves. Mental health disorders such as clinical depression and anxiety can progress to the point where professional support is needed to regain emotional balance and a return to a full functioning lifestyle.
